Letter from Senior Pastor Regarding COVID-19 SHARE
Dear Church Family,
This is a letter from your senior pastor. I hope you are all well in this day that the Lord has made. I know there are lots of questions about what is best for us concerning the Coronavirus. We must always remember that our Lord is in absolute control over all things in our personal lives and our world. He has a plan for all of us and this virus. With that in mind, we must do all we can with the knowledge we have at our disposal. First we must pray. This I believe is the most beneficial thing we can do for ourselves and our world. Our president has even asked that Sunday March 15 be a day of prayer for our nation. God can and already is using this for His glory. Secondly, we must look out for the most vulnerable among us. This means taking precautions with those whose immune systems are weak or frail. This virus is expected to get worse before it gets better. Thus if you are sick, or physically vulnerable right now, or live with or work around those who are, it’s probably best you limit outside contact. Its wise then, to stay home as much as possible until this passes. I listened to the presidents address to the nation along with the heads of all the major corporations such as Walmart CVS and Walgreens and am assured that our nation is doing all it can to address the problem. As far as our church gathering goes, in speaking with our deacon chair, we feel at this point, by looking at the numbers for our state, in our area, the risk is low enough to meet this Sunday March 15, but as the virus spreads as expected we may have to cancel the next couple Sunday gatherings out of caution toward spreading the virus. This is not official yet, but I want to assure you we want you safe and healthy! If you feel you don’t need to come this Sunday, please stay home. We will get through this. Remember Psalm 46:1-2a “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear….” Also remember I love all of you and am praying for you! If you need me for anything don’t hesitate to call!
