Elders

Elders are those men, as explicitly described in 1 Timothy 3 & Titus 1, who are charged with the authoritative teaching of Scripture and the shepherding of God’s people in response to His Word.

435a1091-editPatrick Edwards, Lead Pastor    

Born in Tulsa, Oklahoma and raised in Richmond, Virginia, Patrick came to Lake Gaston Baptist as Senior Pastor in 2013. Prior to his arrival he served as Senior Pastor of Ridgecrest Baptist Church, Wake Forest, NC. Patrick received his Bachelor’s degree in British History from the University of Virginia and Masters degree from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. He will complete his Ph.D. in October, defending a dissertation entitled, “Opponents of the Kingdom of Heaven: Karl Barth and the ‘Fall’ of the Demons.”

Patrick is married to the love of his life, Teresa, and the two have one son, Aiden, a daughter, Charley, and a rambunctious Golden Retriever, Sawyer.

Josiah Antill, Associate Pastor for Family Ministries

Having grown up at Lake Gaston Baptist Church, Josiah began serving at Lake Gaston Baptist as Associate Pastor in June 2017. He has a B.S. in Church Music from Chowan University and is currently complete the degree of Master of Divinity from Campbell Divinity School. He has served in the local church in many different capacities, most recently as the Minister of Music and Youth at First Baptist Church, Scotland Neck. He believes that strong families build strong communities both inside and outside the church.

Josiah is married to Haley and the two have three beautiful children, Jeydan 4yrs, Hanalee 3yrs, and Luke 3 mos.

Clenel Preval, Missionary-in-Residence

Born and raised in Haiti, Clenel and his family came to the Littleton community in the winter of 2016. Having served in a lay capacity in churches in Haiti and the Dominican Republic, Clenel most recently worked in a tentmaker capacity while planting a Haitian church in Brazil. The Lord, however, slowly brought the family to the United States and eventually Littleton, NC. In the summer of 2017 Clenel was hired as a Missionary-in-Residence with his primary responsibilities focused on leading the evangelistic work of Lake Gaston Baptist Church in the township of Littleton and nearby communities.

Clenel is married to Lovelie and the two have two boys, Kenly and Roudley.

Wrenn Phillips, Director of Music

Originally from Scotland Neck, NC and long-time resident of Roanoke Rapids, Wrenn came to Lake Gaston Baptist as Director of Music in June 2015. For fifty years Wrenn has served in various churches leading choirs and congregations in the musical worship of King Jesus! Wrenn’s passion, talents, and expertise are also put to use throughout the community as Director of the Lakeland Singers in Littleton, NC and the Lake area annual community Christmas choir. He is married to Ann and has two daughters, Amber Smith and Lark Minks.

Nancy Wright, Administrative Ministry Assistant

Born in Henderson, NC, Nancy spent her youth years in Baskerville, Va. living on a tobacco farm with her parents and since that time has been a resident of Ebony, Va. She has served as the church secretary for twelve years and enjoys serving her church family. Nancy has a daughter, Angela who is married to Brandon McClintock and they have a daughter, Ella Jane. Nancy enjoys working in her yard, the beach and spending time with her granddaughter.
