Discipleship Groups

We believe that discipleship, or true, meaningful growth in Jesus, happens best and biblically in groups. Thus, we focus our discipleship efforts toward group fellowship and study through Sunday morning Bible study groups and through weekly home groups or missional communities. Click here for information on missional communities.

Our Sunday morning Bible studies include:

Pre-K through High School – The Gospel Project

From toddler through grade school, our children and youth enjoy a three-year curriculum through the Bible. Specific information on these offerings can be found here.

The Discipleship Class – All Ages & All Comers

Led by Brad Antill, this class engages in various topics from season to season while also striving to serve the church through various fellowship events as well as serve the community through volunteer work at The Union Mission of Roanoke Rapids. Currently the class is studying how to reach friends and family members who have seemed to stray from the faith.

The Joy Class – Seniors, Co-Ed

Led by Don Drake, Scott McCollough, Bill Wesson, & Don Sanders, this class is currently studying the book of Revelation. This vibrant community of believers meets monthly for dinners, bi-weekly for lunches, hosts a variety of fellowship events throughout the year.

Led by Paul Shorter, this class is an opportunity for young adults to explore Scripture together while learning and discussing how to live out God’s Word in such an important, foundational time of life. Past topics of study have included apologetics and faith & culture. This group is presently exploring the nature of manhood and womanhood.

The Women’s Class

Led by Robin Atkinson, this class is currently studying “Believing God.” Our women’s ministry commits to not only study God’s Word together, but to minister to one another and host discipleship opportunities for the women of the Lake community.
