Men’s Ministry

We have been sensing God‘s call to begin a focused men’s ministry. For many years we have taken groups of men and boys from our church to the Ignite (formerly Wildfire) Men’s Conference originally hosted at Liberty University. We still love this conference and plan to continue attending but we have felt burdened to bring something a little closer to home and something that is a little more personal for establishing better relationships with men and boys in our church and surrounding community. With this in mind we invite you to join us on July 27th for Forging a Hero: Building Courage under Fire. This is a “dynamic ministry event” from 8 AM until 8 PM. It will include three meals, challenges from real life heroes who have put God first in their life, and hands-on workshops and demos. Throughout the day we will be utilizing the biblical metaphors found in the art of blacksmithing to illustrate five key points:

-New Creation in Christ  – 2 Corinthians 5:17

-Purity is Vital for Victory – Proverbs 25:4

-Temper: Justice, Mercy, and Humbleness – Micah 6:8

-Sharpening our Fellow Brothers  – Proverbs 27:17

-Purpose: Using our Gifts for God’s Glory – Ephesians 2:10

Some of our Hands-on Activities and Demos will Include:

-Blacksmithing

-Archery Range

-Fireman’s Challenge Race

-Law Enforcement Fitness

-Survival Skills

-Firearm Safety

-Woodworking

-Basketball, Putt-putt, Cornhole, etc.

…and possibly more (still in the works)!

Please reach out to the men and boys (ages 8+) in your church and ask them to commit to this day with us. We would like to have a headcount by July 20th so please respond with a general idea of how many you can bring. (You can snap a picture of your filled out form and email or text it to me!) We ask that all boys under the age of 18 be paired with either their own fathers or other male relative or a mature Christian man in your church. We will be specifically focusing on encouraging and growing those relationships. Many of the activities will be geared toward the father / son or mentor / mentee teams.

If I didn’t mention it before… This event is free. We will have a donation jar to help cover some of the food costs but we don’t want anyone inhibited from coming to this event. Pre-registering by name will enter a person for a giveaway. But walk-ins will be welcome to attend the event also.

Even if you or men from your church cannot attend please partner with us in prayer and we will lift you up and pray that God strengthens your men’s ministry and your church and community.
